That Special Time of Year

I can’t believe we are nearing the end of the year already.  Where has the time gone?  With every year that now passes I feel the race of life speeding up to the point that every moment is of great value.  I think of family, friends, events and places.  I think of what things I have done and what things I have wanted to do.  Then I think, “What have I done for Christ?”

I mean, we are about to celebrate His birthday.  “He is the reason for the season,” and why the whole world celebrates.

So, what have I done for Christ?

We prepare and plan, do all kinds of things for our children.  We travel spending time and money to visit our grandchildren on their birthdays.  We sacrifice so much for this life that is racing by, but what have I done for Christ?

I have come to realize that we can never do enough, we can never give back to Jesus what He has given us. Yet so many of us try to. We get so busy in this “Rat Race” called life, that we indeed miss life. I am speaking to ministers too. We can get so busy in the business of “church” that we miss those “special times” with Jesus.

What does Christ want?  What does God desire?  What will put a smile on Gods’ face?

Two thoughts quickly come to mind.  First, “Be still and know that I am God,” Psalm 46:10.  God is telling us to slow down and give Him his rightful place in our lives.  And then, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, will sup with him, and he with me,” Revelation 3:20.  This verse has become precious for me.  I realized that Jesus so desires time with me, that He is standing.  He is standing and knocking on my heart’s door.  He is standing and waiting to hear from me.  He has no mission agenda in this verse, Jesus just wants my time.

Time is special!

I'm trying to share who I am and what I believe on a very real level.  No agenda no goal, just living in the Truth.

Let the posts come to you.
